The European Forum for Architectural Policies (EFAP-FEPA) is an international
network devoted to foster and promote architecture and architectural policies in
Europe, bridging public governance, profession, culture and education.
Among several objectives, the EFAP aims to disseminate knowledge and best practice on architectural policies through meetings of experts, public events and publications.
A decentralized organization, EFAP is based on three pillars:
- the institutional pillar (ministries in charge of architecture in each Member State)
- the professional pillar (national professional representatives, orders, etc. in each Member State)
- the cultural pillar (broadcasting bodies, museums, schools, etc. in each Member State)
The secretariat is in charge of several missions:
- ensure the daily functioning of the Forum
- meet institutional partners (European Parliament, DG Culture of the European Commission, Committee of Regions, etc.)
- coordinate the members from 30 countries, facilitate their collaboration and disseminate various information
- organize the association’s conferences (2/year) and its participation in events (Venice Biennale, European Parliament, etc.)
- design and coordinate European projects launched by the Forum, notably Convergent Territories (2010-2011) and Underconstructions (2011-2013)
- participate in the presidency of the Cultural and Creative Industries Platform (network) within the framework of the Culture Program of the European Union
